This was before the $81 million revitalization. I think what disturbs me the most is that they spend all that money creating museums and what not, and don't seem to concentrate on building up the housing and neighborhoods in the surrounding area so that it could be a viable place for people to live and work. We desperately need the extra housing and jobs, and what a wonderful thing it would be to be able to live and work in a place so rich in Kansas City history. Although I plan on taking my kids down there this summer, I wish, like you, that it would be a thriving area where there were housing and jobs, as well as a tribute to what was a huge part of Kansas City at one point in time. It would be a much bigger experience if it were once again packed with life, culture, history, Cajun food (one of my faves) and a little jazz :)Ember.Finneganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12038227427155037206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1793868153493544927.post-42109254747507515002010-04-26T10:42:53.745-07:002010-04-26T10:42:53.745-07:00thanks, Jason. this was actually for a neighborhoo...thanks, Jason. this was actually for a neighborhood survey type project I did for a class at UMKC and I thought it was worth sharing. sadly, I'd never thought so much about the area, but like you, I grew up there, too, without really living there. I need to go visit LCPA sometime soon - on the inside!katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08272162330202956377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1793868153493544927.post-1716843962696710602010-04-26T09:22:00.001-07:002010-04-26T09:22:00.001-07:00My roots.
